F1 in the 2022 season was watched by almost 2 billion people all around the world.
Netflix was one of the main reasonsfor its popularity that gathered so much audience.
The main thing is definitely closer racing for which FIA has worked so much on technical regulations. Which made following in the dirty air a little bit easier to increase the chances of overtakes. These new regulations didn't bring the field closer. Lando Norris was the only one outside the top three teams to score a podium and that also came miraculously when Charles Leclerc spun.
Mercedes catching up
Mercedes gained time on both Ferrari and Red Bull by bringing upgrade after upgrade. George Russell and Lewis Hamilton gave Mercedes a one-two finish at the Brazilian GP. But that was mainly because Ferrari and Red Bull shifted their focus on their 2023 car earlier. In the 2021 season, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton gave us a season to remember with the championship points going equally into the season finale. In the Abu Dhabi GP Max Verstappen won the championship on the last lap when M. Masi made a controversial decision regarding the safety car. In the 2021 season there were some epic battles between the two but often crashed. In the 2022 season, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc fought for the race wins but didn't crash a single time.
Charles Leclerc
The title fight could have gone to the end but didn't go as Charles Leclerc would have wanted due to reliability issues and the incompetence of Ferrari. Ferrari was beaten by Red bull in the strategic department, pit stops, and setup-wise. Max Verstappen won the title in Suzuka GP. We are hoping to get a title fight between supremely talented drivers Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, and 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton who is eager to win his eighth title with Charles Leclerc trying to win his first.
